Chardonnay

Description

Small batch barrel fermentation with bâtonnage. Aged sur lie for nearly a year. Fine structure and vibrant tension lead to a long, saline finish. Smoked trout with salt and lemon. Porcini risotto.

Chardonnay is known for its ability to express both origin and craftsmanship. At Birdland, the variety reveals a precise and composed character: generous without feeling heavy, layered without losing its freshness.

The Seewinkel shapes the wine at every stage. Sun and soil – defined by the nearby salt lakes – create depth, clarity and a subtle saline note. Small-batch fermentation and careful ageing on the lees give the wine texture and a refined sense of balance.

The result is a Chardonnay with presence and versatility. It has the structure to accompany rich dishes, yet remains fresh and focused from the first sip to the last. The wine brings together international character and the distinctive voice of the Seewinkel.
